For Catholics, the Sacrament of Baptism is the first step in a lifelong journey of commitment and discipleship. Whether we are baptized as infants or adults, Baptism is the Church's way of celebrating and enacting the embrace of God.
Baptisms are on the second and fourth Sundays of each month at 1:30 p.m., except when special factors may cause this schedule to vary.
Parents must attend a Baptism catechesis class held on the first Sunday of each month at 1:30 p.m. prior to scheduling a Baptism.
“Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit, and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism, we are freed from sin and reborn as sons of God; we become members of Christ; are incorporated into the Church; and made sharers in her mission: Baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water in the word.”
[Catechism of the Catholic Church #1213]
Baptismal Instruction will not be held on Sunday, April 1 due to it being Easter Sunday. If you are planning on having your baby baptized before May 1, you will need to attend the Baptismal Instruction class on Sunday, March 4, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. in church.
