The Whitley City Ministry annual Toy Drive provides Christmas gifts to children throughout McCreary County, Kentucky who otherwise may not receive any gifts for Christmas. It will be held before and after all Masses the weekend, September 21/22 at Activity Center B. The unattended Black Bins, located in the church foyer, will be available to deposit toys in from until Wednesday, September 25. These gifts are distributed by the Good Shepherd Chapel of Whitley City. This year they expect to provide gifts for 250 children.
DONATION ITEMS The ministry will be accepting NEW and GENTLY USED items at any time during this period. Large items can be left BEHIND Activity Center A. Donations are for the age group of infant to 12 years of age. We ask that all used puzzles, games and board games be complete, and that boxes be taped so that we don’t lose parts. Donations may include, but are not limited to, the following items:
3-9 years—trucks, cars, anything with wheels, crafts, dolls, jewelry making kits, kitchen play sets, Legos, puzzles, games
10-12 years–any age-appropriate selections
Newborn/Infant clothing—If you wish to donate newborn/infant clothing, we ask that it be new or very gently used and cleaned.
The Whitley City Ministry Team is thankful for your generosity in support of this opportunity to provide a happy day for these less fortunate children.
