One of the benefits of having the partner in our Major Outreach Initiative within the Archdiocese is the opportunity to see it in action and interact with the beneficiaries of our effort.
Because of the success of the August Try It - You’ll Like It dinner at Family Promise, Good Shepherd is getting a group together to provide another dinner on Sunday, October 27, 2024, at Family Promise of Warren County (600 Cincinnati Ave., Lebanon, OH 45036). We are still in the exploration stage of deciding if we want to add another monthly meal service to our outreach efforts.
Once again, the main course and drinks will be provided. Good Shepherd volunteers will provide side dishes, dessert, and service.
Volunteers are needed to:- Pick up dishes left in the walk-in refrigerator before the building closes at 1:30 p.m., store those dishes during the afternoon, and drive them to Family Promise by 5:00 p.m.
- To set up, serve, and clean up dinner for 3-6 adults and 10 or more kids between 5:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
- To plan and lead games or crafts with families of 3-6 adults, and 10 or more kids between 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.
- If you are volunteering as a dinner host, you may bring your dish with you. If you are not volunteering, please leave your dish in the walk-in refrigerator behind the atrium bar no later than 11:30 a.m. on the date of the dinner.
Side dishes will be a lettuce salad with one bottle of dressing, a fruit salad or fruit tray, and dinner rolls or bread. It is recommended that disposable containers be used so that leftovers may be stored in the Family Promise kitchen to be used for future meals. If you are volunteering as a dinner host, you may bring your dish with you. If you are not volunteering, please leave your dish in the walk-in cooler behind the Atrium bar no later than noon on Sunday, October 27, 2024.
