Kathy Schibi
Vounteer Coordinator for Shelterhouse Ministry
The Shelterhouse is located at 411 Gest Street, Cincinnati, Ohio 45203, and is breaking the cycle of homelessness in Cincinnati every day. They provide shelter, safety and nourishment to 210 homeless men and women who otherwise would go without. Through our two gender-based, low-barrier shelters, they empower residents with holistic case management, health and employment services – while helping them to secure permanent housing.
Good Shepherd's Shelterhouse Ministry serves dinner to about 200-250 homeless people the second Sunday of each month at the Shelterhouse (formerly the Drop Inn Center), Greater Cincinnati’s largest homeless shelter, located in Over-the-Rhine.
The time committment is three hours per month and we meet the second Sunday of the month.
Volunteers are always needed to assist donating items to make Sweet and Sour Chicken over rice and green beens. Sign ups are scheduled by month. Please see the schedule of dates from January 2023 to June 2023 below.
